I am proud to be an Army veteran and a first-generation college student. My journey to becoming an attorney began with my service in the United States Army, where I developed a strong sense of duty, discipline, and resilience. Prior to joining the Army, I attended South Dakota State University where I majored in history and political science. After my military service, I pursued higher education and graduated from West Virginia University, where I earned my Juris Doctor degree. During my time in law school, I was honored to serve as the president of my class, further developing my leadership and advocacy skills.
In addition to my academic achievements, I gained practical experience interning with the prosecutor's office during my time at WVU. This experience provided me with valuable insights into the prosecution's strategies and strengthened my resolve to defend the rights of the accused. I further honed my skills by working at one of the largest criminal defense firms in the country, where I handled complex and high-stakes cases. This experience equipped me with the knowledge and expertise to tackle even the most challenging legal battles.
